The Newly Published Author

Updated: Aug 6, 2023

Becoming a published author for the first time can be a daunting experience.

After years of writing, editing, and dreaming of becoming a published author, the moment of finally seeing your book in print is truly indescribable.

However, becoming a debut author also comes with its own unique set of challenges and lessons.

One of the biggest lessons I learned as a debut author was the importance of marketing and promotion. As a new author, it can be difficult to gain the attention of readers.

It is essential to develop an effective marketing plan and to actively promote your book.

Another important lesson I learnt was the importance of networking. As a debut author, it is important to build relationships with other authors and industry professionals. This includes attending book festivals, writing conferences, and other events.

Additionally, it is important to build relationships with bookstores and libraries, as they are key players in the success of a book.

Finally, I learned that the writing process doesn’t end with publication. Even after a book is published, the work is not done. It is important to stay engaged with readers, continue to promote the book and write new material.

Additionally, it is important to stay open to feedback and constructive criticism from readers and industry professionals.

Overall, becoming a debut author of my novel CONSUMED BY OBSESSION has been an incredible journey. It has taught me many valuable lessons about the importance of marketing, networking, and staying engaged with readers.

As an author, a few lessons will stay with me throughout my career, and I am excited to see what the future holds.
